I'm still here.....

I promise, I haven't run away....yet!! I've been so crazy busy the last week and half that I haven't had much chance to post. Sorry, but I think when you see all that I've been busy doing you'll forgive me! I've been ordering all the great goodies and prizes for the Scrap Pink Crop this weekend. Can't wait till that, it's going to be sooo much fun and some people seem to think they know what we will be doing with the little challenge/contest I've given ya...you'll see. (I'll share with the rest of ya after the crop, K?)

I've also been working on getting goodies ordered for the Lights, Camera, Scrapbook! crop. If you haven't taken a look at the awesome classes we are offering please do so!! You won't regret it, you'll learn something fun and new, create some wonderful projects and they are some of the cheapest classes around and all are taught by awesome, talented ladies!! (Okay, that was a big old run-on sentence, YIKES!! Can you tell I'm really excited about the classes and really want you all to take advantage of them??????)

Just a little shout out to the girls, thanks for a great scrapping night Friday. I must say, all the way down there I was thinking of the 100's of kits, the 9 classes, the Scrap Pink and Lights, Camera, Scrapbook! Crop and whatever else I have to finish this week. I almost talked myself out of it just because of the time crunch but I'm soooo happy I went. Had a great time making all those baby pages and visiting with great friends!! Thanks for inviting me and thanks for making me make time for myself!!

Gotta finish with some orders!! Have a great week! Don't forget about Alexandra's House project!!! The days are counting down, just look at the ticker on the side of page!!

WOW!!!! You all are amazing!!

I was in Phoenix over the weekend teaching at Creating Keepsakes so wasn't able to check my emails until late Saturday evening. Imagine my surprise when I got on at 1:00am our time and over 1/2 of the crop seats had already sold and many of the classes were selling quickly as well. (I told you that the classes were awesome!!!) I can't wait till this years event, it's going to be so much fun!!

To answer a few questions I've gotten about registration:

1. Registration will remain open until October 15th, 2007 or until all tickets are sold.
2. Remaining class tickets will be sold at the door unless the teacher request they not be.
3. Remaining crop tickets will be sold at the door however no welcome gift will be given at that time.

Reminder:

1. When registering please only hit the submit button once. You will receive an email confirmation. If you receive two, please let me know.
2. Please list the names of the people you are registering if you are purchasing multiple tickets.
3. Be sure to list names of people you would like to sit with as well.
4. Don't forget about the community service project! You will not only make a family very happy but you will also get a sense of satisfaction as well from helping and a chance to win some awesome prizes!!!

Have a great day!!

Oh and the biggest surprise of all.....Brandon Brazel of Piggy Tales is making a first time appearance to the K.I.S.S. show! I'm very excited to have her, thier products are some of my very favorite and the classes they will be teaching are well, you'll just have to see for yourself!!! She's brining us four new classes that are just too cool! So there you have it, you are going to have lots of options this year! We've worked very hard to bring you the best classes around, I hope you'll take advantage of the talent that will be at the show to learn new ideas, techniques, projects and mostly HAVE FUN!!

A word from Alexandra's House

Just wanted to share some words by Kathy of Alexandra's House. (Tissue alert, if this doesn't tug at your heart strings you need to have your hearts checked, LOL!)

In response to why our scrapbook pages and albums are needed:
"Our families have chosen to honor their babies by giving them birth and in most cases, death. Most importantly, they see them as life...a life created by God and one that existed. Photographs are so important and journals to validate the existence of this baby as their child, grandchild, brother, sister, nephew, niece. A picture, a lock of hair, a special momento to cherish as a rememberance of this special blessing in their lives. Your scrapbooking pages will hold these memories. These are the books that one sits down to treasure the moments and memories in the quiet. It is a gift of the present, past, and yes, future. "

Kathy also shared this information from http://www.aaplog.org/perinatalhospice.htm This will help explain what Alexandra's House does for the families.

"Perinatal hospice extends the concept of hospice to include comprehensive support from the time of diagnosis through the birth and death of the infant, and into the postpartum period. The availability of perinatal hospice provides a viable management alternative to those families for whom elective pregnancy termination is not a desirable option.
Method of delivery is based on obstetrical indications with the exception that a cesarean delivery is generally not done for a fetal status that is not fully reassuring, since intervention for this finding will not change the outcome for the baby and places the mother at increased risk for a complication. At birth, the attending neonatologist evaluates the infant, confirms the diagnosis, and places the infant with the parents so they can share in their baby’s life and death.
Parents are allowed to stay with the child as long as they wish. They are encouraged to dress the baby, take photographs of the baby and hold the baby. All family members are encouraged to participate, including children when appropriate. All involvement is by parental choice, and they are only involved to their level of comfort. Each family receives a special remembrance decorative gift box as a keepsake and repository for birth items.
Comfort measures are emphasized to the family, with staff assisting in this care as needed. The infants are kept warm and cuddled and some even fed. Infants surviving for longer periods are occasionally cared for in the nursery during the postpartum period, if the parents desire. Chaplain and social services provided spiritual and emotional support during this time as needed. Care is continued into the post-partum period by those providing grief support and contact from various members of the hospice team, with the level and timing of involvement dictated by the desires of the parents.
The care of these patients has been accomplished without any notable maternal complications, and the response of parents to this philosophy of care has been overwhelmingly positive. When parents are given loving support, freedom from the fear of abandonment and careful counsel regarding clinical expectations in the setting of a lethal fetal condition, they frequently choose the option of perinatal hospice care for the management of their pregnancy. This can be safely accomplished with current methods of obstetrical care. These parents are thus allowed to fully experience the birth of their child and the bonding that occurs during the antepartum and immediate postpartum period. This bonding helps provide a firm foundation for obtaining closure with the death of their child. They may rest secure in the knowledge that they shared in their baby’s life, however brief, and treated their child with the same dignity afforded other terminally ill individuals under the best of circumstances.

You may read further at the website listed above. Now, let's help these families and get those pages made!!!

Happy Monday!!!

We are expecting a complete cure as we believe in miracles however things like the National Scrap Pink Crops help in the fight. As we seen today, no one is immune from cancer! There were ladies in their 60's, a lady in her 20's and my sister-in-law in her 40's. If you are unable to attend the crop but would like to send a donation to the cause please feel free, I can send it in with our donations. Now everyone go do your self exams!! TONIGHT!!

Forgot to mention: If you can't attend the Scrap Pink crop but would like to do a little shopping from the K.I.S.S. Store you are welcome to stop by during crop hours!! 10% of all sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Fund!

It takes CD's and most digital cards!! YEAH!! I'm soooo excited!!! Sooo this means you need to gather up all your photos, those piles of disk, the overloaded camera cards and bring them to the November crop!! This also means you can make 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 3 1/2 x 5 and wallets from photos you already have!! Anything else you scrappers want? LOL!!!

Oh and the winners are Miranda and Nancy, they answered about the same time so both are winners!! Congrats ladies!! They are going to get to be one of the first to use our new toy and they get 5 FREE prints from Mr. Kodak himself!! LOL!!

I've also been ordering door prizes, contest prizes and still looking for the welcome gift for the Lights, Camera, Scrapbook Crop in November!! I'm planning to start adding some teaser pictures of the prizes we'll be giving out in November in the next few weeks as my house turns from a home to a warehouse!! LOL!! I'll take pictures, you won't believe it. I think we actually lost a child in the boxes last year!! By the way registration opens September 15th for the Lights, Camera, Scrapbook crop.

I'm also busy getting all the teachers lined up, samples and descriptions for the classes to be offered in November. We have the girls from the Kandi Co back this year, Faith from Everlasting Keepsakes with her wonderful classes, Meagan Sabo from CTMH with a very cool class, yours truly with a couple fun classes and that's just a start...... yep, I like to tease ya!!

Oh and a request made by posters of the blog that will be fulfilled at the November crop..... look back through the past post and see if you can find what I might be teasing you about.
