Oh.....Nancy....

You are today's winner, congrats and I just know you're going to love your goodie bag of assorted embellishments!!

Tonight, let's talk about your plans for Christmas. Do you stay at home, travel to family, hop from house to house?

We will go to my Aunt's house tomorrow afternoon to make our annual gingerbread houses. This is a tradition that Aunt Julie started years ago and we do it every year. Love seeing what the kids do to their houses! Tomorrow night we'll go to my in-laws for dinner and exchange gifts. Nothing formal just a laid back (well as laid back as you can get with 7 kiddos and presents!) When we get home the kids, Greg and I exchange our gifts. Christmas morning my parents come out bright and early to see the kids get Santa gifts. Greg fixes breakfast and we give our gifts to them. For lunch we usually have a big McDermott lunch but this being the first year without Nanny they have decided not to do that. Not sure why, it's going to be very hard not to!! We miss Nanny sooooo much!!! Instead we are going to the in-laws again for a small lunch and to my mom's for supper and gifts with my brother. That's it!! Whew!! I'm tired just typing it but I know many of you run much more than that. Thankfully we only have to travel about 10 minutes to any of our destinations!

So tell me about your plans and you may win like Nancy did!! Post by 10:00pm tomorrow and we'll draw after breakfast on Christmas Day for our winner!

Thanks Shannon!
We leave Monday morning for western Nebraska (as close to Wyoming as you can get!) -10 hours on the road. We had Christmas in Neosho with my hubby's side on Friday and Saturday night. Next year we will have Thanksgiving in Nebraska and regular Christmas in Neosho!

Last weekend, some family came in to where we live for an early holiday together. This weekend we are in St. Louis and Belleville, Illinois visiting dear friends and other family members. We will head home Christmas Eve.

Every Christmas for us is different. This year is a good mix of home and travel.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

My husband, 2 kids, and I spend Christmas Eve evening with his parents and siblings. Supper and gift exchange. We are home on Christmas morning for the 4 us to exchange gifts and see what Santa brings. In the afternoon, we go to my parents and have a big lunch and exchange gifts with them and my sister's family. It's busy, but we get to see all of our close family and always have lots of fun.

Hey! We spend Christmas eve at home and have my parent and inlaws come over for finger foods. On Christmas day we go to my aunt's house for lunch and then go to my mom's family for desserts.

I have to ask, what is up with the message board??? Has it really been hijacked by turkish naitonalists? I thought it had to be some kind of joke...did I miss something?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Every year for the last 20 years, Christmas Eve is spent with our family here for finger foods, going to a neighbors' home to visit with friends and other neighbors, then to 7:00 service at our church. We used to go the 11:00 service, but now with little ones, we go to the early service. This year will be different because only our son and his family will be here on Christmas Eve. Our daughters will be at their homes (N.C. and OK) with their families so that their children wake up Christmas morning in their own beds. Christmas Day will also be different because this will be the first time it will be just the two of us in the morning. Again, our son and his family will join us for lunch and opening of gifts from us to them and the children and from them to us. We will eat, play games, watch television (movies, parades, football, etc.), take naps, and watch the little ones play with all their new stuff. Cooking and baking begins early and by the end of the day, everyone is fat, happy, and a bit tired.

Merry Christmas everyone!!

We have Christmas Eve with my side of the family, presents and finger foods or chili. We open the gifts from each, including from us to my kids. Then, depending upon what time it is, we play cards if everyone is up to it and not asleep!

On Christmas morning, the kids open their presents from Santa. Then for lunch we get together with my husbands Mom. In the afternoon, my husbands brothers and their family usually stop by and we have dinner with them.

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!! NR

When my parents were alive we would always spend Christmas eve at their house opening presents and snacking on finger foods. Now that they're gone and I moved to another state, its just Hubby & I. Son is off doing his own thing in another state, sister & brother and their families are in another state. Hubby has to work Christmas eve and Christmas so we'll have a dinner together the day after Christmas and we'll open our presents then. Remember the reason for the seaons & have a wonderful time with family & friends and stay safe for those traveling on the road. Merry Christmas all!

We always spend Christmas Eve (evening) with my mother-in-law and sometimes we go to the christmas eve service at Church. We open presents at home on Christmas morning and then to my folks for a big lunch where there's anywhere from 15 to 20 people. Then we usually go to my brother-in-laws for Christmas night.

We are having a quiet Christmas at home with Annissa's family and Daniel's family. It feels strange for Sherry and her girls to not be here. My parents and siblings were all here for Thanksgiving from Colorado which was wonderful!Christmas will be fairly quiet. Oh, and did I mention, Annissa is 9 months pregnant and due to deliver any day?? Who knows what "Santa" will bring!?! We have a tradition of watching a couple of movies together on Christmas Eve: White Christmas and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers which is always fun. As for me, I am just enjoying the time off to rest and hope to get some scrapbooking done. Merry Christmas to all. Pam

We had Christmas with my mom yesterday. Tonight the fun begins. My kids always make Christmas cookies for Santa and we have a special plate and cup we sit out for him. We also leave carrots out for the Reindeer. When the kids are finally asleep Santa makes sure all present are under the tree and there is usually a special surprise the next morning from the Reindeer. The kids open Santa's gift Christmas morning and talk about how they have to clean up Reindeer poop of the side walk. The day after Christmass this year we are heading to my in-laws for more fun with the kids.

We always have my mom over to witness Santa's generosity, then we head down the road to Jeff's mom for lunch and then come home and veg out. Then the next day, the tree and decorations come down and the house goes back to normal. Merry Christmas ya'll!!! Liz

This is the first year that my husband and I will be staying home and doing absolutely nothing but enjoying a good homecooked dinner. It will be nice to simply waste the day away, hopefully playing with our gifts.
