Are you counting down the days?

My daughter is!! Just about every 30 minutes we are having to count down the days until Christmas!! :-) She's very excited this year! Miranda as winner of our last round I hope you are as excited with your goodie bag of ribbons!! Thanks everyone for sharing!

Angela, we need to see pictures of the baby!! Hope everything went well and we need a full update, name, weight, you know all the good stuff!!

So today let's talk about the presents that you have given. Who is the hardest person for you to buy for? Do you make or buy gifts? Do you shop until you drop for the perfect gift or is it gift cards all the way? Who is the most fun to watch on Christmas? What's been one of your favorite gifts you've ever given, why and who was it given to?

My favorite gift was the year I made my dad a 6 x 6 album based on the book Every Daughter needs a Dad by Gregory Layne. I filled it with pictures of him and I during my childhood along with sayings from the book. It was a great project to work on, brought back lots of memories and it was great to see his reaction. Another favorite was the year we filled my mom and dad's stockings with all kinds of gag gifts. It was so fun laughing as they opened each gift!!

My mom is hard to buy/make for. She has everything and what she wants she buys so it's always a challenge to find her something. My son is getting harder as he gets bigger. His "toys" are getting very expensive, LOL!!

Post today on the blog by 10:00pm and be entered into today's drawing!! Happy sharing!!

My dad is by far the hardest person for me to buy for, but my brother is a close second. I usually end up getting Dad something tool-related since he likes to tinker on his race car in his spare time; my brother gets a gift card.

The best gift I've given would have to be the computer case I gave my husband the first year we were married. I had ordered it online and had it shipped to my parents' house. He had no clue what that big, heavy box had in it until he opened it! (That case weighs about 30 lbs. by itself - even more once he got all of his parts put in it!) He was so surprised!

Michael Thomas was born Nov. 27 at Freeman Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21.75 in. long. If you'd like to see his picture, go to this website: http://www.our365.com/WebNursery/WebNursery/BabyFinder/BabyFinder.aspx

My father in law is the worst person to buy for. He has everything and needs nothing. This year we got him a twirl a squirrel bird feeder! I think he will enjoy this one...we will see!

I make calendars for my parents and grandparents full of pictures of the kids. It is my favorite gift to give because I know they all enjoy looking at the different pictures thru out the year. They are always asking if they are going to get a calendar for next year!

This year I actually made a 6x6 album for my mother in law. First time I have done a small album like this and I am excited to see what she thinks of it!

The most fun for me to watch opening gifts is my kids. They are4 and 2 and very much into Christmas! This year is going to be a lot of fun!

I make most of my gifts from scrapbook related items to crocheted afghans, kitchen sets, etc. The few I dont make things for are my nephews, they are by far the hardest to buy for. Never know what they want, so I usually opt for the "safe" gift card with them. I can't think of a "best gift i've given". I hold out the hope that everyone likes what I give them. HA! HA! And I like watching ANYone open gifts, no matter who they are, they could be the grumpiest person in the world, but when they get that present in their hands and start to rip that paper off, their faces always light up! Big smiles of thanks(even when they cant say thanks outloud). Love giving presents!

I've been making more of the gifts I give each year. I love watching each person that I've given a handmade gift. My sister-in-law is aways the hardest to buy for. She has everything and we have very different tastes.
This year I look forward to seeing my other sister-in-law open a card holder I made.

My mother is the hardest to buy for so I usually make her gifts. This year I made a scrapbook clock also made one for my mother-in-law and son. They were sooo cute.

The fathers in this family are the hardest. My dad and father-in-law "don't need anything". If I decide to try something new, it usually doesn't work out! I stick with the safe stuff -pictures of grandkids, chocolates, and work gloves.(I have never resorted to socks, but have thought about it a couple of times!)

My sons are probably going to have to put their "wii" as the best gift I have ever given after we open this year's lot!

I am so glad to have found you, shannon! I remember you from the old site and the St. Louis conventions. I've now moved to Nevada, MO and hope to join you at a crop!

I have been not stressed a bit, as I shopped throughout the year and have been happy as a clam, making calendars for folks and choosing just the right thing. THEN I find out I will be seeing friends this weekend for whom I had not planned on buying anything. Now I need to get something for a very wealthy couple who live frugally. I'm clueless!

I've already had an early christmas with some family and my sister in particular loved the calendar I made her for her office. My mom cried at the bo bunny album, too. Gotta love croppy gifts!

My father is the hardest person to buy for as far as I am concerned. I usually let my brothers get the fishing gear & I just put in money. This year I noticed that he needed new oven mitts when I burned my hand making cookies there for Christmas. My favorite gift I gave was the Thomas Train Table to my son. He love Thomas The Tank, although this year is transformers. I can't wait til he opens up this years transformers. Carol

Another hard one - I make some gifts, I buy some, and I get gift cards too. Some papercraft gifts, in years past i've done cross-stitch. This year I've also decorated some glass block cubes. A friend drills a hole, push in white christmas lights and then put ribbon on it to look like a present - turns out so pretty! I'd probably have to say my dad is the hardest to buy for also. FIL used to be the easiest because if it was train-related, he loved it!!

I think that all of the men in our family are difficult to buy for. Tool or hunting related items are usually what I settle for.

My favorite gifts to make are mini scrapbooks for my parents and hubby's parents. I love going through my kids, and nieces and nephews photos for the year to pick out the most perfect ones. This year, they are all Christmas-themed.

The hardest person to buy for is my Dad. He has everything that he wants, if he doesn't he buys it. How many gadgets can you get 1 person? Since gift cards came out, it has made this task so much easier!

The best gift I've given was last year when my son wanted speakers and woofers for his car. I was delighted to find them on sale the day after Thanksgiving AND he was estatic to see that he actually recd. them. He doesn't really say outloud that Santa doesn't exist! I think that he is afraid to. :)

The funniest gift that I've ever given was to my sister. I gave her a shirt of some king in an XL. She was kind of disgusted that I would even get her an XL. I said something nice like, gosh did I get the wrong size?? Knowing all along that she for sure wore an XL!! Even my Mom kind of raised her eyebrows, knowing that was the size that she wore. Heck, I would have bought me a Large! I told her that, but I don't think that she believed me! Oh well....this year she gets a Lowe's gift card (for her new house-she is getting), of course she won't like that either! :-)
