Time....

Seems like we've been talking about time alot the last few days. Where does it go? One day you are handed a newborn the next they are going to high school. Start working at 7:30 and next thing you know it's 5:00 and it's dinner time. Calendars are jammed pack with work and kid activities. You try explaining how important it is to enjoy youth/school only to get the eyes rolling in the back of the head and the heavy sighs. You get the point! Time.....

So on thinking of this subject I thought it would be fun to share that moment in time that you would love to be able to go back, stop or slow the clock just so you can enjoy it just a bit more.

I don't think I could do just one but here are a couple of mine. Tyler from 1st - 2nd grade. Not sure where that year went at all! It was a whirlwind with Papa having had a bad wreck and change from working to staying home. It just seems like a blur! Another would be Emma from age 2 1/2 - 4. Business was going full speed and the time spent with her before she started school was not what it should have been. Lots of missed moments!! The other would be the few weeks before Nanny passed away. I only wish I could have had more time with her, to talk, to share, to just be with her. My major time wish right now is time to just spend with the family. No phones, no computers, no work, just time to enjoy! These kids are growing so fast that it won't be long and we'll be saying wow! where did the time go yet again! Sounds like a vacation is needed and I'm working on that, LOL!! Wherever we go, whatever we do, I'm going to enjoy the moment of time!

Hope everyone is having a great day and look forward to hearing from you!

Wow!!

Am I the only one who's head is spinning with all the end of the year school activities? I just got home last night from a fun trip from CK Manchester. I took the kiddos to school today and stayed for Tyler's 8th grade awards which lasted for a little over an hour. Then it was to my mom's for a quick bite of breakfast and back to school for Ryli's 1st grade awards. Home for a little while, trying to get some orders placed, check some reviews and guess what..... it's now time to go get the kids from school! Where do the hours go? Oh, and tonight, we have 8th grade graduation and tomorrow Emma's kindergarten graduation then schools out. But really, more than the fast paced two days...how on earth did my "baby" become a FRESHMAN? How does that happen? I'm so nervous about the next few years, only four more and he's going to be looking at heading to college. I sure hope I'm able to do right by that guy and guide him in the right directions!

Have a great night!

Waving hi....

from Manchester, New Hampshire. Just finished teaching at Creating Keepsakes, we had a blast!! Taught 8 classes and loved all of them! The ladies that attended were so fun, well-behaved (well, most of them, LOL!) and excited to be in class! Thanks Manchester!

I'll be confirming all bus seat reservations on Monday. I believe we only have two seats left as of tonight. I'll update the website and get information/payment from all that have registered later this week. I'm so excited about this trip! Only a little over a month, girls! YEAH!!

We'll also be opening registration for the July Beat the Heat Crop on May 25th. Be watching the website for details! Only 60 seats will be available.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I've missed home and can't wait to get back to good old Missouri!

Oh, I did talk with Debbie, aka Trouble and they are getting a new home! She'll even have a scrapbook area all to her self cause we know she's not going to share with hubby! It's always amazing how when things look really bad, blessings come out of it.

Tornado pictures....

Thought I'd share a few pictures of some of the tornado damage sustained to our little town.
This is what I could see of my parents home when I arrived. The home of a family friend, what is left of it.

Not sure who's vehicle this is or where it came from!!This partial semi-trailer is sitting along Hwy 59. No sign of the other half of the trailer or the truck that was pulling it.
The remains of a 2 story brick church.

Please be much in prayer for all those that lost loved ones in this terrible storm, those that are dealing with the loss of their homes and all those that are still hurting. It's going to be a long healing process for this area.

Just a parting thought, I heard this on the radio on the way to the airport. "God is the bearer of all great gifts, even those that are wrapped in pain." Sometimes it is very difficult to see beyond the pain however good will come out of the pain!!

What a great day!

Had a great time scrapping with friends this Saturday at Scrappin' U! There were some amazing pages being created, fantastic food and lots of it and even more laughter! It's so fun to talk with everyone.

Our next Scrappin' U and the last one for the year is going to be held May 10th. Details and registration will be on the website at http://www.kisscropnshop.com. We only have 30 seats available for these so don't delay. This would be a great gift from hubby and the kids for mother's day. An entire day just for you! My hubby Greg has been nominated to bring his famous potato soup for dinner. It's yummy, in fact he was told he has to bring two crock pots of it cause they don't like licking the bottom of the pot! :-)

Our Kansas City Round Robin Bus trip is a go! We will be going to KC on June 28th, leaving Joplin, MO at 7:00am. We will have registration and all the details on the website on May 1st. Only 45 seats available! Watch for the newsletter for more details!

Have a great week!

The Scrapbooker's Bill of Rights

Just for Fun: The Scrapbooker's Bill of Rights

A Scrapbooker is entrusted with documenting and safely preserving family photos in an album to be treasured by future generations. Creating a Scrapbook is an honorable and important task. As a Scrapbooker, you are entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:

You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one album page. This may be five minutes or two weeks.

You have the right to purchase a certain scrapbook item for no other reason than because a) you like it; b) you think it's cute; c) you'll never find it again, or; d) you know you'll use it someday.

You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your college student's old bedroom, or the kitchen table.

You have the right to scrapbook when inspiration strikes--whether the dishes are done or not.

You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less scrap time--guilt-free.

You have the right to create pages that reflect and celebrate the spirit of the one person who is usually NOT in the photograph: You.

You have the right to put whatever you want on your album page—whether or not it's the latest trend.

You have the right to do nothing more than snack and socialize at a 2 day cropping party.

You have the right to value your personal scrapbooking style to be as important as your photographs. You are creating a treasure—and part of that treasure is you.

You have the right to create your own legacy, one page at a time.

Thanks for sharing this with us Irene, notice I changed the cropping time from 6 hours to 2 days since that's what most of our crops are!! Have a great weekend everyone!

It's Friday already!

Whew, where did this week go? Geez, the weeks almost gone again!! I've been working like a crazy lady yet don't seem to have accomplished much! Hope you had a great week!

This weekend I'll be scrapping with a great group of ladies at our April Scrappin' U. I do have two seats left if you are interested in spending a fun day of scrapping for only $12.00. Contact me by email at info@kisscropnshop.com if you want to join us Saturday, the 26th.

This is the new acrylic album kit I've designed using MOSD Cover to Cover Album. It was so much fun to make. It's hard to tell in the pictures but it has an acrylic front and back cover (front cover shown peeking into first page of album) with chipboard tab pages on the inside. It's even got some fun little half pages inside as shown below. Very fun to make and looks great with your pictures in it!

Copyright 2008 K.I.S.S. Scrapbooks

It's on sale at all Creating Keepsakes show as well as at http://www.licketysplitscrapbooks.com. As with all my kits, your papers are pre-cut for you, includes photos and instructions, all embellishments and ribbons needed to complete the project. Even the album is included!!

Enjoy the day!

Today's creation...

I got it finished! It's designed, it's packed, it's headed to Mesa, Arizona for the Creating Keepsakes show then on to Wendy's store at http://www.licketysplitscrapbooks.com. Mom and I cut, packed and shipped 50 of these little guys today. It's so fun! 10 pages of little boy cuteness! LOTS of precut mats, pages and embellishments!!
What do you think?

I'm gonna work on some new page kits tomorrow, we'll see how that
goes! I need to get some new ones for the shows and need 6 new pages
the Arkansas class group. I've got some fun ideas in mind, now to get them to reality!!

Have a great Tuesday!!

Do you ever?

Get in a rut? I've been in one lately, I can't seem to get in the mood to do a page layout for the life of me! Now board books and acrylic albums, I'm on a bit of a roll!! Funny how that goes huh? Here's the newest board book, I called it Girly Girl simply because it's all those fun, bright colors that just shout "girly girl".

This is a fun 5 x 5 board book kit filled to the brim with newMy Mind's Eye papers, tons of fun ribbon and embellishments. What's crazy is that everything, all papers are cut for you. The only thing you have to cut is the ribbons. I've even rounded every corner for you! Crazy, I know but there's more. I've even stacked the pages in the order that you will use them and included colored instructions!! If you like this fun little girly book as much as I do head over to http://www.licketysplitscrapbooks.com and click on the What's New button. Wendy's selling them in the store and at all Creating Keepsakes shows. I'm working on the boy version tonight, hoping to finish it up tomorrow. I'll post pictures of it when it's finished.

What do you do when you are in a rut? Do you have places you go to seek inspiration? Great websites? Magazines? Catalogs? Do you just walk away until something strikes you again? I'd love to hear what inspires you to create, is it your pictures? Paper? Ribbon? I'd have to say I will often times find a yummy ribbon and that will spark an entire page/book. I know, weird? I just LOVE ribbon, as you can tell from the book above!! LOL!! I better get back to work on the boy version of this book, have a great Monday!!

Are you serious?

Has it really been over a month since I posted to the blog? Where does time go? Let's see, since I last posted I've been to Orlando, Florida for the Scrapbook Expo show and St. Louis teaching for Lickety Split Scrapbooks at the Creating Keepsakes Show. I've had the great pleasure of teaching 4 classes each day, an awesome 8 x 8 Disney book, a 5 x 5 Recipe for Happiness book, a totally cool, totally custom heart shaped chipboard album and a fun little layout class. These classes are so fun to teach and of course I love meeting new scrappers!

We also hosted Spring Fling and wow was that a fun group of ladies! We were sold out and had a great mix of new customers and returning customers. We had a blast with the blue lights, the new paper train and of course all the new product which they pretty much wiped me out of!

As for upcomming events, we have our Scrappin' U scheduled for April 26th and we only have less than 7 seats left. Details and registration can be found at http://www.kisscropnshop.com.

I've also posted details on the upcoming bus trip to Kansas City at the message boards at http://www.kisscropnshop.com. Scroll down to bus trips and read all the details! Registration will open May 1st and will close when full or on June 1st. Only 50 seats available so go check out details now!!

You'll also want to mark your calendars for our Beat the Heat crop on July 11th and 12th. Further details will be coming soon!

Have a great week!!
